Colin Kaepernick Welcomes His First Child. NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played football in nearly seven years. Now, he has a new reason to be grateful.

Colin Kaepernick Welcomes His First Child. As you might know, Kaepernick played for the San Francisco 49ers for five years. During his time with the Niners, he accomplished a great deal of success.

Well, with the exception of activism and a few NFL workouts, Kap has remained fairly low key since then.

Frankly, that’s why the recent baby  announcement takes us by surprise. Earlier today, his longtime girlfriend Nessa ‘Ness Nitty’ Diab shared the good news via and Instagram post. The TV host explained that tonights VMAs red carpet appearance would be her first day working since becoming a mom.

Here’s what she had to say:

“Honestly I wasn’t going to share anything because this is sooooo personal to us and I realized I’m a complete mama bear! Colin is the most amazing dad and I’m soooo grateful that he is by our side for every moment of this journey.”

Also, she included a photo of her, Kap and their new bundle of joy. Additionally, Ness let the masses know it’s been an interesting journey recovering these past few weeks.

She continued:

“Colin is the most amazing dad and I’m soooo grateful that he is by our side for every moment of this journey.”

Kaepernick’s Career

As previously stated, Kap had a short lived NFL career. But it was a great run.

In fact, he lead the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII in 2012. The game was famously known as the Har-bowl since the head coaches for both teams were the Harbaugh brothers.

Unfortunately, Colin was seemingly blackballed within the league after taking an unapologetic stand for injustices towards black people.

Although there’d be consequences, he’d take a knee rather than stand for the national anthem before each game. As a result, many people went up in arms.

Ultimately, his civil servant spirit resulted in a career downfall that never ameliorated.

So far, neither Kap or Nessa have shared the name or gender of the baby. At any rate, we love to see it.
