Chris Brown AMAs Performance Canceled. Earlier today, Breezy shared an immaculate dance rehearsal with his followers. It was supposed to be his American Music Awards performance.
Why Did The AMAs Cancel Chris Brown?
Chris Brown AMAs Performance Canceled. As you might know, the 2022 American Music Awards take place Sunday, November 20th. Initially, we were supposed to see artists like GloRilla, Lil Baby and Chris Brown hit the stage.
According to CB himself, his performance was canceled for reasons unbeknownst to him.
The Grammy-winning singer shared a 7-minute video on Instagram featuring what would’ve been his AMAs performance. Of course, he delivered an astonishing choreography even in rehearsal.
However, it won’t make it to the stage at this years awards. He had this to say in the caption:
“U SERIOUS?”
Next, he commented:
“WOULDVE been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown.”
Certainly, this comes as a slap in the face—but it’s not a surprise. BET recently scrapped him also.
Breezy is the most decorated artist of his time, and it’s amazing that he’s still even willing to perform at award shows. Honestly, it’s no secret that after reaching a certain level, many artists get too “big” for awards shows.
Chris Brown Michael Jackson Tribute
Well, there’s more. To add insult to injury, Brown’s set included a tribute to Michael Jackson.
The choreo began with his hit single Under the Influence—but quickly transitioned into Beat It, Wanna Be Starting Something, Billie Jean, and finally Thriller.
His dancers, both male and female were just as amazing. Judging by the rehearsals, Team Breezy would’ve killed it per usual. You can see the clip below.

Without a doubt, Michael Jackson served as his biggest inspiration—so any chance to honor him must be a full-circle moment for the Virginia native.
Speaking of Team Breezy, his fans, fellow artists, and supporters were quick to call the AMAs producers and showrunners out in search of answers. Also, many people plan to boycott the show due to the “mistreatment” of CB.
So far, there’s no explanation for them removing Breezy from the lineup.
