Black National Anthem At Super Bowl Stirs Debate. Sheryl Lee Ralph has been chosen to sing “Lift Every Voice And Sing.”
This song has been on the dockets for weeks, as reported by Fox News.
But the star of “Abbott Elementary” singing the BNA is being met with controversy.
Some people believe we only have one national anthem. So, why should the Black National Anthem be included.
While others don’t see a problem with it. And rightfully so. Shouldn’t we be able to celebrate black heritage.
After all, both the US national anthem and BN anthem talked about being proud.
Also, they both speak about liberty and justice. Isn’t that the point.
Having said this, folks will alway have something negative to say. We can chose to ignore them.
Especially since, the decision has been made. Not to mention, gospel duo Mary Mary sang it at the last Super Bowl (2021).
Nevertheless, social media is in a tizzy. I’m just glad that my home team, “The Philadelphia Eagles” are in the Super Bowl.
Be that as it may, Sheryl is going to sing her heart out. That is what she does.
In case you don’t remember, Ralph is one of the original “Dream Girls.”

Furthermore, Ralph has starred in motion pictures along side actor Denzel Washington.
In addition, Ralph starred on the hit sitcom “Moesha.” She is no stranger to performing.
You are all in for a treat. To top it off, Chris Stapleton will be singing “The National Anthem.”
Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will perform “America the Beautiful.”
Certainly, the pre-show and half-time show are going to be spectacular. Wouldn’t you agree?
