Big Sean addressed Nipseys alleged killer Eric Holder on IG. Big Sean sent a very powerful message that all young men should adhere to. Apparently, Big Sean has been pondering these thoughts since the untimely death of beloved Nipsey Hussle.
Will Big Sean’s words have an impact or not?
What happened to Nipsey Hussle is almost an everyday occurrence in black communities. The tragedy of losing a loved one is immeasurable, to say the least. But Is it possible for Big Sean to reach the hearts of young black men with his comments? Or is it too late to change the minds of young black men who think that revenge or retaliation is necessary. Especially, when they have been threatened or disrespected. Will what Big Sean said have any impact on Eric Holder at all? Here is some of Big Sean’s message from his Instagram post:
“You know what I wanted to say to the person who murdered Nipsey and to people lie that who take somebody’s life out of impulse or for revenge or whatever the case may be – you’re making a permanent solution to a temporary problem,”Sean said.” Obviously that’s not how you solve problems. I don’t know if we know the value of a life for real, because when you take somebody’s life, dog – you’re setting back their family. You’re setting the whole lineage back – generations. What I mean by that is, I know for a fact my grandma was working for my mom and for me and my brother. I don’t even have kids – I’m definitely already working for my kids and my kid’s kids. When you take somebody’s life, you’re setting all that back. And, for what? For something that could have been communicated better?
Big Sean goes on to say he recognizes his inability to communicate effectively. However, he is taking steps to remedy his issues. And, he hopes that other young black men will follow his lead in doing the same. Being a strong black men does not mean you use revenge or retaliation to settle differences. In fact, using revenge or retaliation tactics are pointless. Hopefully, Big Sean’s message will have a positive impact on young black men.
