Dababy dropped by Kanye West. From his remix that is. Kanye has removed a remix of his song “Nah Nah Nah” from streaming platforms. The remix track features Dababy. Also featured on the same track is 2Chainz.
Released last year, the track has disappeared in recent days from Tidal, Apple Music, and Spotify.
Dababy Homophobic Comments Causes Domino Effect
During a show at the Rolling Loud Miami Festival on the July 23rd weekend, he criticized the LGBTQ community and disgusted GLAAD and other artists.
Many celebrities voiced their dismay at his comments, including Elton John and Dua Lipa.
Though Dababy eventually apologized, it wasn’t enough. Seemingly backtracking from one of his two apologies, he deleted the message from his Instagram page.
Several events have canceled Dababy from gigs he was scheduled to perform at, including –
- New York City Music Festival Governor’s Ball
- Austin City Limits’ Texas Festival
- Day N Vegas
- iHeartRadio Music Festival
- Can’t Wait Live!
- Music Meltdown
- Parklife Festival
NYC Music Festival Governor’s Ball put out a statement that read –
“Founders Entertainment does not and will not tolerate hate or discrimination of any kind.”
What’s Next For Dababy?
Just a few weeks ago, HipHopUn reported that Dababy was being mentored by 50 Cent. With his whole career seeming to be looking up, now this. What must Fiddy be telling him now?
Still no word on 2 venues that still have the embattled rapper on their lineup –
- Kansas’ Hot 103 Jamz Summer Jam and
- New Jersey’s Hot 97 Summer Jam
Will Dababy ride this controversy out? Or will he be thoroughly canceled? Being dropped by Kanye West is not a good sign.
