Rapper Snoop Dogg Now Owns Death Row Records!!!!! Congrats are in order for rapper, actor, and businessman, Snoop Dogg, as he now owns the former record label that he left, Death Row Records.
Snoop Dogg: New Owner Of Death Row Records: The Facts!!!!!
First, According to hiphopdx.com, Snoop Dogg has acquired Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group.
Second, Hasbro became the owners in 2019 and then sold the record label for $385 million. In a statement, Snoop Dogg was quoted as saying,
I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire Death Row Records Brand, which has immense untapped future value.
It feels good to have ownership of the label I was apart of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members.
I would personally like to thank the teams at Blackstone, MNRK, and especially David Kestnbaum. I’m looking forward to building the next chapter of Death Row Records.
Third, Originally owned by former CEO Suge Knight, Death Row was responsible for several multi-platinum rap albums . Those albums are
- Dr. Dre’s The Chronic
- Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle
- The Dogg Pound’s Dogg Food
- Tupac Shakur’s All Eyes On Me
Lastly, Bacc On Death Row, Snoop Dogg’s soon to be CD, is expected to arrive on Friday (February 11), which is two days before Snoop joins Dr. Dre, Mary J Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar will perform at the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi halftime show on Sunday (February 13).
Most of all, I am so proud of one of my favorite rappers, Snoop Dogg in his new business venture, being a record owner of the label that made him famous.
