Metro Boomin Catalog Makes The Music Producer $70 Million Dollars Richer
Metro Boomin catalog just netted the super producer a whopping $70 million!
The deal was closed by Shamrock Capital and the Atlanta native on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old record producer/DJ/record executive didn’t give away the whole bucket though, just a portion of his catalog publishing rights.
So what exactly does this entail?
The loot includes some super successful recordings, like these gems that all went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart –
- Bad and Boujee (Migos)
- Congratulations (Post Malone and Quavo)
- Heartless (The Weeknd)
And that’s just to name a few.
Looks like Shamrock is the place to go to sell your catalog.
Already they acquired Dr. Dre’s bag for $200 million.
Additionally, they scooped up another big hit makers tunes, as they purchased the rights to Taylor Swift’s first 6 albums.
Metro Boomin – real name Leland Tyler Wayne – has a historic career.
His latest project, ‘HEROES & VILLAIN’, which he released last December, is also a chart-topper.
Now MB is gearing up to produce for the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spder-Verse” film.
