Biz Markie posthumously getting a street named after him. The late rapper will receive the honor in his hometown.
Biz Markie To Be Honored In His Home Town Of Long Island
Biz Markie (real name Marcel Theo Hall) died on July 16, 2021, at the age of 57 due to complications of diabetes.
Known by some as the “Clown Prince of Hip Hop, the “Just A Friend” rapper had a career that spanned more than 35 years.
Dropping 5 studio albums, the Rapper/D.J./Record Producer was associated with acts such as Lil Wayne, Beatie Boys, Juice Crew, and The Flip Squad.
On Wednesday it was announced by his widow, Tara Davis, that Biz Markie will posthumously be honored in his hometown of Patchogue, Long Island NY.
Dedicating a street to the late rapper, the honor will name a street BIZ MARKIE WAY.
Taking to Instagram, Tara gave her thanks –
“In honor of the contributions Biz has achieved as an actor, beatboxed, DJ and philanthropist, his hometown of Patchogue Long Island will honor him with the renaming of South Street to Biz Markie Way!
All are welcome”
In just a week, the honor will formally be unveiled during a public event at 150 West Main Street, Patchogue, NY 11772 – Southwest Parking lot.
