Bill Cosby Responds To Rumors Howard U May Fire Phylicia. What Bill had to say was very interesting.
Doesn’t Phylicia have freedom of speech or not?
It was back in May, Howard University hired Phylicia Rashad for the re-established College of Fine Arts. But after the backlash from her comments about Bill’s release her job is now in jeopardy.
In a move to save her position at the University Phylicia issued a statement. She wrote that she supports sexual assault survivors. Also, she mentioned she did not mean to be “insensitive.”
Obviously, what Phylicia said may not be enough to save her job. Or so it seems. With that said, Bill has lashed out at the HCBU University, as reported by USA Today.
Bill released this statement via his representative, Andre Wyatt. In the statement, Bill expressed his concern about Phylicia’s “freedom of speech” being violated.
In addition, Bill feels Howard University should support Phylicia’s freedom of speech.
He then went on to say this,
“This mainstream media has become the Insurrectionists, who stormed the Capitol,” he said in his statement. “Those same Media Insurrectionists are trying to demolish the Constitution of these United State of America on this Independence Day.”
This is a powerful statement to make. However, does Bill have a valid point? Is Phylicia being tried in the court of public opinion? Does Phylicia have the right to her opinion?
Should she be fired for her comments? Why can’t she support her long-time friend (Bill Cosby) and still support women?
Keep in mind, it was Howard University Alum and students who are calling for Phylicia to be fired. So far, Howard University has not fired Phylicia,
Nor, has the University issued any public statement.
On another note, Phylicia’s celebrity friends speak up
Famous singer, actress, and Broadway star Stephanie Mills tweeted this about her dear friend,
I love you @phyliciarashad ❤️❤️❤️. If it’s true that Howard University wants to terminate her Position because they feel her comments about Mr. Cosby were insensitive, then they should give back the millions of dollars that he donated to the university. pic.twitter.com/AibSXRuD2R

Do you all agree with Stephanie? Should Howard University give back millions of dollars donated or not, as reported by TMZ? Of course, Stephanie was echoing what Bill said, as well.
Bill wants Howard University to give back the millions he gave to the school. Now, you and I both know that will not happen.
Although, I do get the jest of what Stephanie and Bill are saying. Phylicia’s friends are making it known they stand with her. Which they have the right to do without being judged.
Nevertheless, this story is just heating up.
