BMF is set to return when season one is over. And that was decided after airing the first episode.

BMF Debuts At #1 For Starz

BMF (Black Mafia Family) has been renewed for a 2nd season.

50 Cent’s hit show on STARZ’s first season is off to a great start.

After just one episode, it was decided that another season was in order.

After premiering this past Sunday on September 26th, it was the #1 debut for the STARZ app this year.

BMF was inspired by actual events and tells the story of 2 brothers from the streets of Detroit.

In the late ’80s, they became one of the most influential crime families throughout the country.

Among the stars in the series –

  • Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.
  • Da’Vinchi
  • Russell Hornsby
  • Michole Briana White
  • Ajiona Alexus
  • Eric Kofi Abrefa
  • Myles Truitt
  • Steve Harris

Also, making appearances in recurring roles in this mega-successful show are –

  • Snoop Dogg
  • Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight
  • Wood Harris
  • La La Anthony
  • Seraya

“BMF Is About Much More Than Drug Dealers and Mafia”

Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. is playing the leading part as his father, who is currently incarcerated.

When asked how he felt about playing his own dad, he stated –

“I got a call from my dad, who’s in prison, and he told me 50 Cent had the rights to the BMF story and he could do whatever he wanted with it – a movie or a TV series,”

Flenory Jr. says that his father has seen the show, and he loves it. In fact, his whole family love it.

With 50’s direction, Flenory Jr. took acting classes for 2 years before filming started on BMF.

“At first it sounded crazy — I had never acted before,” said Flenory. “I was actually in school for business at UNLV, in Las Vegas. [Now] I want to act for the rest of my life. I feel like I found my calling. So, Fifty basically brought acting to me. He’s the reason that I’m acting. He helped me get the role, but I had to earn it and show the network [that I was the right choice].”

Additionally, Demetrius Jr. admits that he didn’t know a lot about his father, and what he went through.

He learned a lot about him and his years growing up poor while preparing to take on this massive role.

“I hope everybody can get to see [the show]…and understand that it’s about brotherhood and loyalty and family. It has a soul to it.” – Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.

BMF airs on Sundays at 8 PM on STARZ.
